On my machine CTRL+RIGHT/LEFT on a folder or folder link opens the folder on the other panel.
I've never tried it on a file.

I think Marek will solve it in next version.

AFAIK the filenames "This is a test" and "This is a Test" are the same names for Windows (NTFS-filesystem).
They can't exist in one directory as two files.

So the rename istn't a rename.
Only Linux-filesystem is differencing case ...

If you mean the font size of the filenames:
"Tools → Settings → View → File/folder list" tab "Color/Font".

Why should a "not FreeCommander related" section be useful in a FreeCommander Forum?

Quick filter is for filtering the files in the shown ...

I don't know that favorite tools are limited to 20 items.

If you really mean "favorite tools" on the favorites toolbar the instructions are at:

You can easily add foldern to the favorites toolbar by drag & drop.

Try to start FC with a fresh new settings-file:

Use start parameter
freecommander.exe /NewIni=.\settings\fctest.ini

Maybe there are false paths in the ini for your new computer.
Did you change from 32 to 64bit system?

You can use "Column profiles", to defined per column, whether it is sorted ascending or descending (on changing the sort column).

What are you expecting if you select the "go to parent folder" symbol and pressing enter?

If you don't like the behaviour, you can deactivate the "go to parent folder" symbol in the file pane.

You can use Automatic views to set special views to several folders.
e.g. Condition: <sub>*\pictures\*
