Tools - Define keyboard shortcuts...
Under the menu item"Tools → Define keyboard shortcuts" keyboard shortcuts (hot keys) can be defined for FreeCommander commands.
List of commands and their shortcuts
The list of commands and their shortcuts shows for each command its "Current shortcut" and its "New shortcut".
A new shortcut can be assigned to the highlighted command in the input field "New shortcut".
In the status line below the list of commands a short description of the highlighted command is shown.
Command groups in the list of commands and their shortcuts:
The commands in this list are sorted by the following groups:
The commands of a command group can be expanded/collapsed with the button at the right end of the group rows.
Clicking the button (at the right end of the status line below the list) the filter selected in the adjacent input field is activated to shorten the list. To create a new filter, only a filter string has to be entered.
Example: after typing "sn" only the commands "Desktop snapshot" and "Take desktop snapshot" are shown.
Clicking the button (at the right end of the status line below the list) deactivates the currently active filter.
The field "Current shortcut" shows the current shortcut of the highlighted command.
The input field "New shortcut" allows to assign a new shortcut to the highlighted command (if the focus is in the field). To define the new shortcut only the favored key or key combination has to be entered.
The following shortcuts are allowed:
If the entered shortcut is already assigned to an other command, this command is shown below the input field "New shortcut". If no command is assigned to this shortcut, the text "Not assigned" is shown below the input field "New shortcut".
Activating the "Backspace" key clears the input field, the text "None" is shown in the field.
If the entered shortcut is not allow, no text is shown in the filed.
Subsequently the new shortcut has to be assign to the highlighted command by activating the "Assign" button.
Activating the "Assign" button assigns the shortcut, shown in the field "New shortcut", to the highlighted command.
Activating the "Remove" button deletes the assignment "Current shortcut" - highlighted command. This command has no longer a shortcut (until a new one is assigned).
Activating the "Defaults" button deactivates all user defined assignments. The default (initial) shortcuts are valid again.
Activating the "Shortcut list..." button saves the the "List of commands and their shortcuts" to a file (for documentation or printing). File name, file extension and path can be defined.
This list shows all registered global shortcuts. Registered global shortcut can be activated, as long as FreeCommander is opened in the background, when other programs are active.
