597 - UTF-8 text files - searching and selecting issues

#1 Post by Dreamer » 04.08.2012, 15:06

To reproduce, open Slovak.lng file from FC for example - in internal viewer, search the number, e.g. 35111, press Enter, then F3 several times.

For the second issue, just double click any word in viewer, it should be selected, but a different characters, not whole word, is selected instead.

Tested files: Slovak.lng, Czech.lng, Bulgarian.lng, French.lng.
It works good with English.lng.

This one is still not fixed in build 610.

Addition, copying the text in Slovak.lng file for example is broken too, sometimes the part of the text is not copied correctly, strange symbols are used instead.

Because of these bugs the viewer is quite unusable, please check whether is possible to fix these bugs.

I have reported the problem to the autor of the component I use. Unfortunatelly he had no solution currently.
As workaround - if you want to search in viewer, you can switch to rtf view. Mostly used file types, you can define in the viewer settings for opening always as rtf.

In RTF mode search doesn't work at all sometimes, to reproduce:

- use slovak.lng file in the latest FC XE 610
- search for 58957
- press F3 few times to search the text
= it works
- now switch to RTF mode
- search for 58957
= text not found!?
