Want to move a file to some folder.
Drag the file and move to the folder in the tree.
The folder tree expands automatically after a small delay.
Do what you want with the dragged file
Everything works correctly till now.
Collapse the just expanded folder.
Now on you will never get the folder auto-expand when dragging files onto it.
Repeat the operation on any folder in the tree, it will auto-expand only once.
Looks like FCXE thinks the folder tree is still expanded, although you have collapsed it
manually
- flag not reset ?
To recover FCXE needs to be re-started.
FCXE 591
XP sp3 home 32b
W7 sp1 home prem 64b
All the best,
Pierre
Auto-expand when hovering folder in the tree works only once
Re: Auto-expand when hovering folder in the tree works only
Fixed for the release 594.
Re: Auto-expand when hovering folder in the tree works only

Perhaps related to this report? (see my observations regarding FC 600) viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4605#p13968
Re: Auto-expand when hovering folder in the tree works only
It's not exactly the same problem, Scoyy_Y, but yes it is related to the behaviour of the tree autoexpansion when drag-dropping onto it.
There are actually 3 misbehaviours
- the one above : auto expansion takes place only once. If you collapse an expanded folder then it will not autoexpand the next time you want to drop on it.
The other problems you are referring to
- The autoexpansion takes place without any delay. It looks like this has been corrected in 601 but an entry in the settings to customize the delay would be welcome though.
- The autoscrolling of the tree in order to show the selected folder, if out of the display. This is not a bug. MS has introduced it is recent W versions. But I hate this feature. I want the tree to stay still under my mouse. I see the selected folder in the nearby panel anyway.
Apparently there is a checkbox (Autoscroll) in the settings that should take care of that but it does not work.
