Indyvidual Tab (titles) settings

#1 Post by imcpan » 08.04.2010, 10:44

I don't know is it possible byt maybe it is so I'm asking in General Discussion.

It is possible to show Tabs titles with or without icons, hawever, only default system icons are shown.
Q1: Is it possible to force Tab showing user defined icon? As it is possible for Favorite Toolbar elements.
Q2: Is it possible to force Tab showing icon only, without Tab title?

Thanks

Dreamer is right, there doesn't seem to be any way to do that in the Settings dialog.

But if you really REALLY want it, you can do klunky work-arounds that *almost* but *not really* show just the icon.

You can assign user-defined icons to your folders (right-click folder for Properties tab, and Change Icon).
In FreeCommander, menu Extras > Settings > Folder Tabs,
you will have to set it to Use Windows Colors, and to Show Icons
(That means you won't be able to change the colors for tabs)
Folder tabs will show your custom icon (anyway, in XP, I haven't tried this in Vista)

The closest way to have the tab show only the icon would be to right-click the tab, select Rename and Lock, and name it with something like a decimal point (you can't leave the name blank, I'm sorry to say.)
In settings for folder tabs, turn OFF "Show Drive Char in tab caption".
Use something small like a decimal point for "Mark locked tabs with that character"

Your locked tab would show the icon, followed by two decimal points.

not what you wanted, but if you close your eyes halfway, it almost looks the way you want it to
