Favorites Bug?

#1 Post by uncertain235 » 02.08.2009, 20:13

I searched the forum for a similar item but couldn't fint one. Here's what I see.

I have FC installed on a Windows XP system. Installation was done using an admin account. I often use FC in a non-admin account.

When I save favorites within FC while running the admin account, they are remembered. When I save favorites within FC while running the non-admin account, they are not remembered. They disappear when I close and reopen FC.

Has anyone else seen this?
Any clues?

Regards,

Jed

In Vista you should re-locate the FreeCommander.ini file, I'm not sure about XP, but you could try the same, in settings > start program > config file > change the path here else than C:\Program Files\...

While you are in your Admin account, make sure that FC reads its INI file from its own folder and give your non-admin persona write permission to it.

Any directory or file in an NTFS file system is bound by Windows' security restrictions. That's why I have FAT32 partitions on my hard drive, so no matter what profile I'm using (or even if I'm playing in Linux) I have complete access to what I most need. My Free Commander is installed in this "free country", because I normally don't run as admin.
