Navigating between open tabs with Ctrl+Tab unexpectedly change the drive/folder of each tab

Navigating between open tabs with the keyboard using Ctrl+Tab or Shift+Ctrl+Tab
results in the drive/folder displayed in each tab to unexpectedly change to another drive/folder.

This happens if I "press and hold" those key combinations.

To reproduce:
- use the default settings
- open several tabs (seven should be enough) and make sure each shows a different drive or folder
- "press and hold" Ctrl+Tab to quickly navigate between open tabs
- release and repeat one or two more times

Result: the tabs no longer show the same drives/folders as before.
