832 - Change to last active tab

Thanks for this feature, it works with default settings, but it doesn't work as I wanted.

- Shortcut Ctrl+PgUp is a standard Windows shortcut to go to previous tab and I'm using it in FC too.
- Dialog with tabs is in the screen middle, it's not a good position for me, it could be party covered with another always on top window.
- With many opened tabs dialog could cause problems.
- Additional click - Enter is needed, so it's not so fast when needed to switch 2 tabs often.
- When using a toolbar button for this option, I have to move a cursor to click the last used tab.

This feature is good - and perhaps it could be preserved, but with different shortcut and perhaps the option to move the dialog, or show dialog in the middle of the FC window, if possible.

Similar option / shortcut is "Tab: Show popup menu", just the last active tab is not focused here.

What I requested and what I miss is a direct shortcut to switch between last 2 active tabs, as I said, it works like that in Firefox with one option enabled, if you press Ctrl+Tab quickly, of course, default shortcut is not important, could you add such direct option, please?

I'm using also copy/move/delete without dialogs, with 1 hotkey, also using 1-click to open items.

I found a bug, will report in in another topic.

BTW I just realized, that Alt+Tab in Windows work exactly the same as Ctrl+Tab in Firefox.

If you press Alt+Tab quickly, it switch to last active window, click again and again, it switch between last 2 active windows (dialog just blinks).

If you press and hold Alt, then press Tab, dialog is shown, if you release both keys, it switch it to last active window, or you can click Tab while holding Alt to switch window.

I use now the Ctrl+Tab for "Change to last active tab".
Probably the option will be needed if Ctrl+Tab should use the old function.

Thanks, it works good just some issues...

- Shortcut for "Next folder tab" work now as "Change to last active tab" - new 1-click way.
- Shortcut for "Next folder tab" is missing.
- Shortcut for "Change to last active tab" work as in previous version, additional click is needed.

First, I think the direct shortcuts to previous/next tab should be preserved, perhaps even default second shortcuts could be added - Ctrl+PageUp/Down, the problem is, that Ctrl+PageDown is used for Open archive, I don't know if it's used widely, but most archives can be opened directly, with double click/Enter, moreover, Ctrl+PageUp/Down are standard shortcuts to switch tabs in Windows and web browsers.

Then, old "Change to last active tab" command should be changed to new behavior without extra click.

Once there will be a command for all actions, previous, next, last active, it will be easy to (re)assign all shortcuts.

However, it's a different behavior, so perhaps the option would help.

Do you want to use this new behavior - Ctrl+Tab to switch to last active tab by default? It could be confusing for many users, but it's a useful option, it's not easy to decide.

EDIT: If you want to preserve "Change to last active tab" - old behavior, it's not a problem for me, just the shortcut for "Change to last active tab" - new behavior, previous tab, and next tab are needed too, hope you understand what I mean.

I decide to use "Change to last active tab". If used with any CTRL shortcut works with pressed CTRL key.
If started with button - using without pressed CTRL is possible.

Ctrl+PageDown: there are many files with archive structure, e.g. exe, docx, xlsx, jar, war. Such archive files you can not open directly.

Could you explain it, please?

New behavior of the Ctrl+Tab is OK, but it's assigned with "Next folder tab", which is a problem, because no shortcut can be assigned to switch to next tab directly.

OK, I didn't want to remove the shortcut completely, but perhaps change it - it's a conflict with a standard shortcut to switch to next tab, decision is on you.

I just want these 3 custom options for shortcuts:
- previous folder tab (exist in 832+8326)
- next folder tab (as it was in 832)
- change to last active tab (new behavior, as it works in 8326 for ctrl+tab - "next folder tab")

What about a default shortcut for "Change to last active tab"? Currently no shortcuts is used. I will be using Ctrl+Tab, but if you don't want to use this shortcut, perhaps another could be used, perhaps Ctrl+PageUp, as before?

Regarding the toolbar button "Change to last active tab", first - icon would be nice, it's missing, and with this button a dialog is shown, so I have to click Enter or the tab. I'm not sure it it's good behavior, it's possible to click the active tab to to go last active tab with a single click, and click to any tab directly to switch, also the button [v] in tab bar show the list of all tabs. Perhaps the button could just switch to last active tab directly, many addons for web browsers work like that. - Of course, button is not so important.

Something like this? Folder tab to left + Save selection to file icon, change color...

Thanks, but it look strange to me, similar icons for - last used, previous, last active item, they all use arrow from right to left, so this icon is like wrong direction for me. Also using the blue color for the arrow would make sense, since it changed the tab, same as previous / next folder tab buttons.

Regarding the function, is it possible to just switch to last used tab without a dialog, when using the button, please? This way with dialog is quite useless, because I have to use a keyboard - Enter (which is not easy accessible with left hand), or click the item in list, so it's easier to click the active tab. If I want to use other tab than last active, I can click it directly too.

Icons changed.
Button change to the last tab without dialog - you can see dialog with Ctrl+Click.

Thanks, it works good with click in 8329, but I can't see a dialog with Ctrl+click on button, I tried also with default settings.
