Shortcuts & miscellanuous..

#1 Post by deian » 19.02.2009, 14:15

Hi!
How can I put some shortcuts on the toolbar? I mean a shortcut icon for every folder and not all in a folder(like in the Favourites folder).
Is there a way to change the letter font & size of the tab title and to move the drive bar(from the right window, when 2 drive bars display enabled) from the right side to the left side, like in the left window?
Are there skins and other icons forFreeCommander? To be honest, I don't really like the current "navigator" icon...
Thanks.

Hi,

please read forum rules before posting! http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?t=9

Especially
  • - "Post different questions, issues, or suggestions in separate threads!". So its much easier to answer to one question!
    - "Make sure to search the forum before posting your question, issue, or suggestion."
Solutions:
1. http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopi ... ls+toolbar
2. Maybe by changing windows display fonts
3. ?
4. No
5. http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopi ... ogram+icon

Yes, by changing one item in the freecommander.ini file:

AlignDrivesLeft=1
Are there skins and other icons forFreeCommander?
No, but themes are planned for the future version.

First of all i wished every shortcut as a toolbar tool, and not another folder
. I have tried the favorite tools method, but this is very much like the favourite folder.
Well, the icon change does'n work... i have Vista and the .ini file is stored(?) in the AppData/Roaming folder(there is no such file in the Program Files\FC). I have tried to save the changes but it has no effect, they remain until I start the FC again, and then the file is overwritten by initial settings(made before my changes, maybe by the programm ?).The same happens with the right drive bar position change.
Other suggestions?

Regarding the favorites, try to explain it more, or perhaps a screenshot might help.

The ini problem - open the fcStart.ini file located in FC install folder, there is a location of the FreeCommander.ini file with the settings - no path means the FreeCommander.ini file is in the FC install folder.

If you want to change something in FreeCommander.ini file, first close FC, open FreeCommander.ini file, edit and save it and then open FC.

I managed to change the icon in the window caption. The"AlignDrivesLeft"
item has no effect. As for the desktop and QuickLaunch icon, they can be changed only at installation (i mean at all...)

I'm using this option all the time. Are you sure you're using this option in [Form] section?

AlignDrivesLeft=1

And make sure all FC instances are close before you save the ini file.

I think AlignDrivesLeft works only with combo box.

Do you really mean the Icons on Desktop an QuickLaunch?
This is basic windows functionality!
They are changed like all other icons in windows by rightclick and "properties" >>> "change Icon"!

Thaks. It worked. In the future it would be nice to have a floppy disk or some storage device as icon ( i have tried also the Vista sistem icons, but I don't like them).

There are millions of free windows icons in the web.

e.g.: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=wi ... -Suche&lr=

I think there might be some icons which you like.
