XE 2026 Build 940 (moving files issue)

#1 Post by reddyshyam » 06.01.2026, 10:39

Hi,

Not sure if I am the only one effected but since upgrading to the 2026 build, moving files between folders using Ctrl+X and Ctrl+v results in copying instead of moving. Has anyone else experienced this?

You mean 940 32 bit?
What is your Windows Version?
Have you tried Cut from the context menu?

Additional you can try this solution:
- under Help->About check the location of the freecommander.ini
- close freecommander
- open freecommander.ini with simple editor (notepad, not WinWord)
- find the line with "CopyPasteInThread="
- change value to 0
- save and close freecommander.ini
- start freecommander

Hi @Marek,

Good day! Thanks for getting back. Mine is 32bit and Windows 11 Home Single 25H2 upto date.

No, haven't tried context menu as I normally do with kb shortcuts.

Thanks for the suggestion, just did it and initial results are promising and as expected. I will check through out the day and confirm if the issue is resolved.

Thanks again, much appreciated! ⭐👌👏🙏

Hi @Marek,

A quick update. After 12 hours of testing, I can confirm the above fix works seemlessly.

Thanks again! 🙏🙏🙏
