FreeCommander XE 2024 Build 917 64-bit donor, Windows 11 64-bit 23H2 and Windows 10 64-bit 22H2
I recently upgraded FreeCommander Portable from build 913 to 917. Since then, I have been having problems when accessing a network drive on my NAS.
The NAS is shutdown overnight every night. The PC running FreeCommander may be left running after the NAS has shut down. When I come to use the PC the next day when the NAS is running again, FreeCommander appears to be unresponsive. In fact, it turns out that it is waiting for a two hidden dialog boxes to be acknowledged, saying something like:
"Timeout while checking if file or directory exists: N:\software\Microsoft"
When running build 913 and earlier, the FreeCommander window on to the network drive would simply default to showing the PC desktop folder instead of the network drive if the drive wasn't available. I much preferred that behaviour to having to remember to tab around all my open windows to find the error messages and acknowledge them. Is it possible to change any settings to go back to the previous behaviour?
Build 917 hidden dialog boxes
Re: Build 917 hidden dialog boxes
In the next Version (after 918) you can set the option "Settings->File/folder list->General: Timeout in milliseconds when accessing network drives" to value 0 for the old behave.
Re: Build 917 hidden dialog boxes
Now running version 919, have set timeout to 0 and all seems well again. In the next Version (after 918) you can set the option "Settings->File/folder list->General: Timeout in milliseconds when accessing network drives" to value 0 for the old behave.
Thank you very much for your prompt response and fix.
