Mouse back button action

#1 Post by junkmarsh » 02.08.2024, 13:05

I have a back button on my mouse which (unsurprisingly) functions as 'history back' in Freecommander. Is there a way of remapping it to 'up one level'?
thanks

In FreeCommander it's impossible, but few similar options are available to go up one level:
- double left click to free space
- middle click to free space
- right click to free space

These options are in:
- Settings (F12) - View - File/folder list - Mouse shortcuts

To remap mouse "back" button you can use external tool - HotkeyP, direct remap or you can try mouse shortcuts, more here:

HotkeyP / Discussion / Discussion: HotkeyP mouse shortcuts tips

This way you can get multiple options with the same number of mouse buttons, similar to Ctrl+ and Shift+ on keyboard.

Thanks. I've remapped using autohotkey. Too much muscle memory to easily forget!
