I have FreeCommander XE 2019 Build 790a 32-bit public working on my windows XP - That came 5 Years ago with an installation file. This has been customized with tool bars etc.
The New vwrsion available for XP comes only in the portable Zipped file "FreeCommander XE 2024 Build 901 32-bit public" by using this I loose all the customization.
I tried to import the settings from the old version into the new one but it does not work OK.
I would like to install the new version without loosing the customization I did on the old version.
Any suggestion?
Thank You.

Re: Updrading Windows XP
EDIT: First, make sure, you unpacked the new FreeCommander version, don't start FreeCommander.exe from zip archive.
Open old version and find, where are is the Settings folder placed.
FAQ – Settings (main menu “Help → About…”)
Backup this folder, copy/paste, it's not needed, just to be sure.
Then open the new version and find, where the Settings folder is placed for this version, it should be in the installation folder (FreeCommander\Settings).
Close both FreeCommander versions, instances.
Open File Explorer, delete the Settings folder in the new version and then copy the Settings folder from old version to new version.
Other ways are in the FAQ, link above.
