I can't get shortcuts to return to their defaults after I changed two of them in the functions bar. I reset them using the Defaults button and saved the changes but they didn't take. I can go back into Settings>Define keyboard shortcuts.. and the shortcuts will have returned to the non-default ones I wanted to reset.
It was difficult to get the Defaults button to become active too. I had to delete the shortcuts all altogether for an item before the Defaults button became active. It seems like the Defaults button should be active at all times and at least not only when you remove all the shortcuts for the item with the Remove button. Possibly, there is another way to activate the Defaults button, but I could only do it this way.
I also noticed that the middle two shortcuts on the functions bar are hard to activate with your mouse. I had to move the mouse around the button and find just the right spot before the shortcut would highlight and become clickable.
edit: I also found that I could not use the keyboard to input the default shortcut for an item once I changed it. I could put anything else there except the original default combination. I tried the 1st and 2nd shortcut spots and neither allowed it.

Function bar - can't reset shortcut keys
Re: Function bar - can't reset shortcut keys
I can confirm, that the "Defaults" button is unavailable, possibly it's a bug, not sure.
Possibly, if
Anyway, "Remove" button to remove active shortcut is active and working.
However, if you assign a new shortcut, "Remove" button is not active, it's normal, you have to click OK, reopen dialog and then you can remove new added shortcut with "Remove" button.
BTW Make sure, you click the appropriate number for the shortcut you want to remove - 1. or 2., then click the "Remove" button.
If the shortcut looks removed, but after program restart it's not removed, make sure, that the Settings folder has rights to write data, it should not be in Program files folder, you can check it in the About dialog - Paths Info.

Re: Function bar - can't reset shortcut keys
The remove button is how I deleted the shortcuts, enabling the default button to become active.
However, if I had previously changed a default shortcut to another shortcut, saved and closed the window, then reopened the keyboard shortcuts later and used the remove button to delete it, I encountered an issue. When trying to enter a new shortcut afterward, it wouldn't let me use the keyboard to set the new shortcut. I then used the default button to try and enter the new shortcut again, and it did get entered into the window. It changed all my shortcuts back to default, which was not good. But after saving and reopening the keyboard shortcuts, the shortcut reverted to my non-default shortcut.
Hopefully that makes sense. I had chatgpt rewrite it as I couldn't even understand what I originally wrote.
Thanks,
Robert

Re: Function bar - can't reset shortcut keys
I tried it and it works good here.
Don't use "Defaults" button, I still think it's a danger button.
Just note, if you remove shortcut and then you assign a new one, it will be shown in the other column, next to main column, so it may look it's not added. If you press OK and reopen the window, it will be in the main, first column.
