Right click menu not closing

Sometimes right mouse button context menu is not disappearing.

Basically, after clicking right mouse button the menu shows up.
Then I decide not to use any option, so would like to cancel it.
After left click on the app window with left click the context dialog does not disappear.

I have to click on the context menu with LMB again (like to activate it again) and open some sub-menu, then click main app window and then it goes away.

This is very random and I cannot recreate it when I want it, if you ask me to
Also, it is happening on multiple computers.

FreeCommander XE 2022 Build 861 32-bit public; also was happening on all previous versions I was using since I can remember. Windows 10 64 bit.

Is there any trouble shooting I can do to investigate farther?

I can't reproduce in 878 64-bit, 861 32-bit, Windows 10 21H1 64-bit.

after farther investigation i am able to reproduce the bug now!



the menu there on the right hand side is from freecommander.

How to reproduce:
1) select item in the list
2) click RMB to open menu
3) BEFORE menu gets open - usually there is approx 0.5 to 1.0 second lag before menu opens (sometimes more, depending on file type etc.); you have to be fast - click LMB over files list or any other window on the desktop.
4) menu stays open even when switching between apps.
5) the only thing that makes the menu close is to click an item in the menu and then click any other object in the desktop. Menu gets closed and freecommander window is being brought on top then.

I can reproduce it in 861 32-bit public, with these steps:
- use default settings
- right click the image file in FC
- quickly left click desktop
= context menu stay opened

I can't always reproduce it, just in about 1 of 10 attempts, but I had it 2 times already.

Clicking the empty space or file list within FC doesn't work, clicking desktop doesn't work to close the context menu, right click on empty space in FC open another context menu - from FC, this one can be closed with left click, but previous context menu is still not closed.

Right click the other file in FC cause FC to blink, the title bar blinks, existing context menu stay opened, new one is not opened.

Clicking the task bar doesn't work either, with left or right mouse button.

Workaround: Clicking the item "Properties" close the context menu, also clicking the Start/Windows button in task bar close the context menu.

In 879 64-bit donor I can reproduce it either, but less often and left click to FC empty space close the context menu here.

@Dreamer Your computer may be faster than mine and time window between RMB on file list and LMB on desktop or file list to keep the menu open may be shorter

You can reproduce the steps with Windows Explorer (WE) too.
FC 64 bit works the same way as WE.
For 32 bit I can not control the context menu the same way, because the invisible help program is used.

It has been happening to me for the longest time

And despite my numerous reports of other bugs and suggestions for improvements, also for many other programs, it has never occurred to me to post this bug anywhere

I just live with it and when it manifests itself I either pick the last item from such menu [when operating only with a mouse] or press the Esc key
