Just yesterday (and nearly every day before that - can't work w/o FreeCommander!) I had no problems w/FreeCommander. But today, when I try to start it, it stalls. That is, it shows up in the Task Manager, but no window is visible. Nor do I receive an error message. I tried upgrading to the most recent version w/the same result.
I'm running WinXP SP3. Between yesterday and today, I did run an Windows auto update

Try to close FreeCommander, then backup and delete FreeCommander.ini file. Or install FreeCommander to new folder.

Thanks - that enables me to open FreeCommander, but only w/the default .ini file. Any way to recover the settings in my modified .ini file? It still causes the program to hang but I don't know which setting is the problem.

Try to change the DIR1 and DIR2 in the [Form] section to c:\.

The DIR1 and DIR2 variables don't seem to be the cause of the hung program. Any other suggestions?
(I guess this is now also a feature request - better error handling of the .ini file w/a popup that told you which section was causing the problem would be nice.)

Perhaps it's just off the screen, try to delete Pos= from ini.
What about plugins? Are you using any external plugins? Try to close FC and rename Plugins folder temporarily to Plugins2.

Deleting the numeric entries on the Pos= line in the .ini file was it. Now back in business.
Thanks
