How do I select files by typing?

#1 Post by donovani » 02.10.2008, 18:38

In the active tab, when I start typing, I expect the selection to update based on what I type. It does for some letters but for others, ie "r", it does not. For example, if I have a tab with the following:

Debug
Documents
Reference

When I type "d", "Debug" is highlighted. When I type "o", I expect "Documents" to be highlighted but the selection stays on "Debug". I see an input box in the lower left corner of the window but some keys don't work in that box. "o" in the above example. Or typing "r" to try and select "Reference" in the above example also does nothing.

Since it seems to work for some subset of characters, I'm sure it's something I've configured wrong.

Any ideas? :)

Thank you.

It's working good here.

Check the Keyboard shortcuts in menu > Extras. Perhaps you have R hotkey assigned to some option. Or - if you have quick view opened, check the shortcuts also there, I think there are such default hotkeys.

Thanks - that worked.

Looking through the GUI didn't show those keys as assigned but opening up the .shc file in a text editor showed they were mapped to actQv* functions. I rarely use QuickView and am not sure how to reassign those keys via the GUI but editing the shc file directly worked like a charm. Thanks! :D
