Folder->Favorites greyed out (grayed out)

Hi forum--

I just installed FC and I defined some folder favorites. However, when I try to use them, they're greyed out in the menu (shortcut keys won't work either).

Why would my favorites be greyed?

I have a screen grab, but I see no way to attach in this forum (too bad -- could be very useful to attach images in a forum for a heavy gui-based tool).
