CPU Usage after taking Desktop Snapshots

#1 Post by zman » 12.03.2008, 16:25

I have been using FreeCommander for quite a few years now. I am using 2007.10a now. I have noticed that there is still a problem where FC will consume much more CPU than normal (~20% or more) after a certain number (indeterminate, but 10-20 should definitely do it) of desktop snapshots have been taken. I always take mine in selection mode, output jpeg, to file, hide FC window. This problem occurs on multiple versions of windows (I currently use FC with both XP pro and Vista ultimate) on numerous makes and models of laptops. (HP/Dell/Lenovo). The CPU utilization will not return to normal once this happens. The work-around is to montor the cpu utilization and restart FC whenever the CPU climbs above normal (which is quite low).
