When I open the "Network" folder, it is empty, and I am forced to use Explorer. Does anyone else have this problem or am I missing something?

Windows 7 professional x64 (it's in my signature) plus FCXE 612 (I figured y'all would assume the latest version - I'm no noobie here..., but I agree, I should've said so)

It is possible if you start FC very fast after PC start.
You have the "Refresh network" command Ctrl+Alt+R - try it.

Marek, do you mean to try the hotkey after I restart the PC and then start FC?
Without doing anything prior, the hotkey does not effect anything.
Restarting FCXE without restarting the computer does not effect anything.
Restarting FCXE and then using the hotkey does not effect anything.
Using View>Refresh does not effect anything.
If I open "Network" with Explorer, the list of network computers is populated correctly.
I am a domain admin on our domain.
I'll try the test after restarting my PC, but I'll have to get back to you with that one.

Please excuse this post.
It is my first post here & I put it in the wrong place, I'm not using a beta version, but ver. 2009.02b instead.
!******** the problem below is with ver. 2009.2b, NOT with a beta version
I have a similar problem.
I cannot access other machines on my home network.
BUT, unlike the OP, I DO NOT have a 'Network' folder.
Except for this irritation, 'Free Commander' is an excellent program.
