Is it possible to sort by file type ? IN FILE SEARCH RESULT

I use version XE 0.0.0.591 on a Win 7 64 bit machine.

In the file search results list .... I click on the "Type" column header, the display changes, the arrow goes back and forth from up to down to up.

But the sort is not valid.

Files of .jpg and intermixed with .pdf, etc, etc, etc. Sort does not work. Is there an enable sort by extension setting ?

I assume if it is going to change (IE: clicking on column header DOES SOMETHING) that perhaps it was meant to work. Is there an enable sort by type in the file search results window setting ?

I'm having to use Window's explorer for file searching again Kind of awkward to use multiple different programs depending on the feature I wish to use.

Confirmed (WinXP32bit; fCXE 6.13)!

All the oher columns (Name, Size....) are sorting up and down like they should but not "Type"....

The Type column sorts correctly for me in 615 (Win7 x64). I didn't test it on any earlier version.

Fcny, does the Type column sort correctly for you in a regular tab? Or is the problem only in Search Results?

Hello - it is just in the search results window from what I saw.

I looked at the XE download page ... it is dated 1/12/2012 ... I assume I'm using that version as I installed less then 4 months ago I believe.

You must not have been talking about the XE version .... ?

The latest public version of FCXE is 609, released December 1, 2012. So I recommend you upgrade from 591 -- see http://www.freecommander.com/fc_beta_en.htm Otherwise it is really not worthwhile troubleshooting an old version. Then let us know if you have the same trouble with 609.
