Ini remapping bug

#1 Post by ok0ska » 30.01.2008, 15:21

Hi,

I found a wierd thing: Our users have restricted accounts, on Windows XP workstations. We deploy FreeCommander 2007.10a centrally, and relocate the INI file to C:\Docs&Settings\User\AppData folder. The issue is: if we do so, the left panel always show the working directory set in the shortcut to FreeCommander, so it will always overwrite the INI file, we can change the left panel starting directory only by altering the shortcut's properties. If we use the INI under Program Files\FreeCommander, and give write rights the users to that file, everything works fine.
Can you help me?

Thanks in advance,

Ok0ska

I think, it should works. Please check if you have fcStart.ini file in your install folder. The content of the file:
[Start]
FreeCommanderIniDir=CSIDL_APPDATA

I tested it again, on a Win98 this time. Result: If I set the menu to store settings in AppData, it works well!
But if I use the "/Ini=..." command-line parameter, it will always set the left panel to the working directory.
