Main menu - File - Copy with dialog - Use Windows
If "Use Windows" is selected (under the menu item "Tools → Settings → File/folder operations" in the section "Copy"), the Windows "Copy" dialog is opened after the activation of the menu item "File → Copy with dialog" or the "F5" key.
The content displayed under "Source" differs according to the number of items to be copied:
- One item to be copied
If only one file (or folder) is selected, the name of the file (or folder) is displayed under "Source".
- Several items to be copied
If several files (and/or folders) are selected, the number of files (and/or folder) is displayed under "Source".
Under "from" the folder is shown from which the selected files and folders are to be copied.
- Input field target
The input field "Target" initially holds the folder from the inactive panel and, if only one item is selected, the item name. If several items are selected, "*.*" instead of the name.
If only one item is selected, the item name is focused. Otherwise "*.*" is focused.
- Button "Use current folder"
Activating the button or the shortcut "Shift+F5" overwrites the folder in the input field "Target" with the folder from the active panel. In this case "Source" and "Target" folder are identical.
After activating the button a selection list with the favorite folders is shown. Clicking a folder overwrites the contents of the input field with the clicked folder.
After activating the button or the F4 key, the "Browse for folder" dialog is shown. Selecting a folder and activating "OK" overwrites the contents of the input field with the selected folder.
- Option "Auto rename target file"
If this option is checked, a target file (with the same name like the file to be copied) is auto renamed first. Afterwards the "With" file is copied normally. Example: the file "FreeCommander.exe" is renamed to "FreeCommander(2).exe". If "FreeCommander(2).exe" already exists, the new file is named "FreeCommander(3).exe", etc.
- Option "Always overwrite without prompt"
If this option is checked, the Windows overwrite request is suppressed.
