Using XP Pro SP2.
I'm using the newest FreeCommander - *Portable* version.
I have it installed on my computer's HDD, not on a flash drive.
As the title says, often but NOT ALWAYS, when I restart my pc, I get a Windows message box warning that there is a file named "C:\Program" which could cause a problem, and asks to re-name it. I click OK to let it re-name the file. It names it to something like "Program_001" with no file extension.
Opening the file in Notepad, it looks like an ini file of some sort from FreeCommander.
I get this file even though I exit FreeCommander normally, that is, FreeCommander did not crash.
Is it because Portable FreeCommander is not installed on a portable drive?
Is there something I should be doing to prevent this?
Is it something to worry about?
I can post copies of the file or screenshots of message box if that would be useful.
Thanks for any advice you might have.

In which directory did you install FreeCommander Portable?
I tried to reproduce this behavior but w/o success so far!

Hi, thanks for responding, and sorry to be so late getting back here!
I installed it as
C:\Program Files\File Utilities\FreeCommander
I am using the portable version, and it creates a normal INI file in its own directory.
I also sometimes use the portable version that is installed on an external USB2 hard-drive.
I will bring back screen shots and copy of the "Program" file next time it happens.
