disable auto-expansion of a directory when dragging a file

How can I disable auto-expansion of a directory (folder) when I drag a file onto it? This is one of the bugs in Microsoft Explorer that made me look for an alternate file manager to begin with. Just as I release, the directory auto-expands, and the file ends up in the wrong directory.
