Open External Viewer With Focused Item

Thanks to this forum I found a setting "OpenViewerWithFocusedItem=1" to only open the focused file even if more than one is selected. It seems to only be working for the internal viewer though. Is there a similiar setting for the external viewer? For fun I tried adding "OpenExternalViewerWithFocusedItem=1", but it didn't work.

I also noticed that if a focused file is not in the selection when I press F3, then the first selected file is opened. I find that a bit contradictory to the inisetting which says to open the focused item.
