Will FC run well on W7 x64? I really can't use it.

Hi. Just wanted to ask if there is any way to help FC run well on W7 x64. I guess it is not planned to create a x64 version but maybe with some tricks.

Apart from not showing the 7zip context menu, in general it is very buggy. It takes long to open first of all. The when I double click to open a folder it won't respond. I need to double click again. Sometimes 3 times. When I drag and drop it takes very long. Very. And many times it doesn't really do anything. So I need to cut, open the destination folder and paste. And still many times it won't work. When I delete files it takes ages and/or gets stuck. And so on. Many things work bad.

I have been trying all the other alternatives to FC but no one is as good as FC for my taste, plus it is for free.

Any suggestions to improve these problems if there are any? I am now using the default windows explorer most of the time as it runs perfect and fast, but I want the two panels and opening in the two panels I want by default (D: and D:/Downloads).

Thanks in advance.

I'm also running Win7 x64 and FC runs fine. I have disabled the UAC, that's maybe why it's running fine. For 7z, try installing the 32 bits version.

I use FC on Win7 x64. In fact, it was the first program I installed when I moved to Win7 from Vista x64. It works just fine. I have UAC turned on.

As for 7-zip, the solution is to install the 32-bit version of 7-zip. This works for me.

FC is indeed the best. I had purchased lifetime licenses for two other file managers but I don't use those anymore.

You say drag and drop doesn't work. Are you sure the problem is not the mouse? It could also be your security suite.
