Like win.exp. but horizontal split

#1 Post by SkyDog » 23.01.2009, 04:24

Need two pane view like windows explorer, but horizontal split. That is, top pane should show a tree view, and bottom pane should automatically show what is in the folder selected in the top pane.

I have 8-level folder tree, and long file names and old eyes. Left-right split tree view just will not show enough without damned slider bars becoming a nightmare.

View > Divide horizontal (Ctrl+H)
Enjoy :)

My eyes demand large fonts, short filenames, and shallow folder depth ;)

Not really the answer

Thanks, but I found the "View/Divide Horizontal" setting about a minute after running the excellent program for the first time.

How do I set the options so that the folder highlighted in the top pane is automatically displayed in the bottom pane; if the "photos" folder is clicked in the top pane, a list of the contents of that folder would be shown in the bottom pane. THAT would be like the windows explorer, only horizontal rather than vertical.

Better-- how to set the top pane to a "My Computer" view so I can pick any drive or folder easily, with the contents in the bottom pane. Anything that requires two clicks rather than one just wastes half your life.

I am so very hopeful someone has addressed this most simple of all file manager requirements. Microsoft got halfway there. Thanks for your help.

No, such view is not possible. All views are foldertree on the left, files on the right.

"My Computer" isn't possible in current version, you can vote for this request:
