Toolbar icons to go back or forward in the history of visited folders

Hi,
I've been using FC (XE-32) for a short time and I think it's fantastic. I don't understand how the visited folder history works, for example, after browsing subfolders in two or more tabs, when I go back or forward in any of the tabs using the toolbar icons, it takes me to folders that aren't in the current path, but rather according to the folder history list.
For me, the really useful functionality would be like using Alt + Left or Alt + Right, meaning that the forward and backward movements only affect the folders visited in the corresponding tab and not the entire visited folder history. Is there a setting for this that I'm missing?
My computer:
Windows 11 Home, 25H2, 64-bit
