I am seeing a similar background color for the search results in Search dialog as well, but ONLY while the search is in progress.
When the search is complete, I have dark background for the search results. The incorrect color in Search results is rgb(235, 235, 235) or #EBEBEB.
The incorrect color in Keyboard shortcuts is rgb(192, 192, 1920 or #C0C0C0.
These colors are not present in the theme color scheme, so, I do not know where they come from.
I have tried changing theme colors with no effect. If it cannot be fixed, that's o.k. It's no deal breaker.
Thank you, Marek, for your hard work on this project over many years. I have tried many other file managers and none compare to FreeCommander.

Which color scheme are you using?

Perhaps try other color schemes, e.g. FreeCommander_Dark.

Thank you, Dreamer! I should have thought of that. I guess I'm just getting too old.
The setting was 'ShortcutsActiveShortcutColumnColor=' in the theme colors file.
I guess this setting isn't accessible through the UI? Is the '.colors' file documented anywhere?
Anyway, I edited the colors file for my custom theme and now it looks good.

I still have the issue with the search results panel of the search dialog.
If I use FreeCommander_Dark theme, the problem is not there.
If I use one of your themes I see the same problem of wrong background color for search results only while searching.
I'm still in the dark on that one, but since it is only during the search I can live with it. When the search is complete everything looks fine.
If I comment out 'VclStyleAllowBorderStyleFileList=0' on line 3 of FreeCommander_Dark theme, the problem appears in the search results.

Anyway, I'm not going to worry about that one, and if I find any other inconsistencies, I will look through the colors file first.

Thanks again for responding to my post!

I'm not sure, try to change these:

Code: Select all

SearchDuplGroupBkgColor=4605510
SearchDuplGroupFontColor=16763904
I plan to release new full color schemes.

Those colors are not documented anywhere AFAIK.

I had to change those colors in my color schemes, otherwise they looked bad with standard Windows theme, unreadable text.

I'll try to find more later, it would be the best, if those colors would be accessible through the UI.

Not sure if it's possible to fix this for high contrast Win scheme, possibly fixing it for that could brake if for standard Win theme.

Thanks for the info. At least now I know to check the theme.colors file. When I created the theme, I only set colors through the UI and saved it.
I did not know that the file also contained settings that were not accessible from UI. So, thanks for that information. I'm a happy camper now.
