Currently it is possible to use both Thumbnails view mode and a Quick View feature in order to take a peak of graphics. But I think that FreeCommander could benefit further by inclusion of a third way of showing content of such files to users
This brand new addition would turn whole opposite panel into a canvas area, temporarily hiding content of that other Tab totally [i.e. removing the >>..<< indicator for upper folder and not utilizing all that info that Quick Viewer is able to show nor its icons]. User could choose to see on that canvas for example a top-centered 780 pixels high thumbnail, either for all kinds of graphic files or only for e.g. [chosen by user] JPGs and PNGs, optionally with a new preferable background color around them [hence the usage by me of the term canvas]
Assuming a pre-rendition of thumbnails for all eligible files from a given path would be automatically taking place as a background process upon each entering of a each folder, this new feature would ensure to a user a mix of being able to cycle smoothly through and see relatively big representations of huge graphic but without actually loading the whole original graphics every time. Being able to choose any height [or width] as the go-to size [along with option to either always place the whole thumbnailized image into that chosen canvas or to see a truncated version of it] would make it suitable for all computing powers and speeds of drives, as every user could always slightly increase or decrease parameters for finding out optimal settings for owned machine
And during reopening of FreeCommander such special very large thumbnails from previous session should be wiped out to avoid cluttering the C volume with most likely no longer necessary files. Or alternatively user could set a time period after which these thumbnails would be deleted, so that they potentially would not have to be generated from scratch multiple times due to fact that a user might be often working for days on the same set of graphics
(I mentioned this proposition in point #7 of this comprehensive topic about Thumbnails: https://freecommander.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13821)
