Can you remove the up one level shortcut [..]?

I always use the background doubleclick to go up a level so the shortcut it just wasting space for me. Is there any way to remove it?

That icon is very very tiny on my screen, bet you're using very low resolution than mine. Well, I didn't notice it exist till this post, ha ha ha, cheers.
