OK, I think you need to enable NC-Mode - in Settings > Select items > NC-Mode - first 2 options.

I think it should be working always - both - selecting with mouse and selecting with shift/insert/space, I have already requested it.

Excellent. I'll look forward to the addition.

FC is really starting to take shape. A few additions here or there and it will be able to compete well against Total Commander, I believe.

I'm hoping a "preserve folder time and date when copying or moving" update will be coming soon as well, for that will make folder synchronization much easier. It is a feature that Total Commander has and I would really like to see it added to Free Commander as well.

I simply prefer FC to just about any other application, so if it does get a few of those key features, I may finally be able to leave Total Commander and PowerDesk Pro 5 behind.

I think I'd also like to see the viewer be "dockable" so it shows up as a viewing pane like you can do with PowerDesk Pro 5. I may need to submit that as a feature request also. It really is a cool feature and helps to keep the desktop organized. The docked viewing pane means that there will be no window overlap that might block the file list, for instance.

Anyway, here's a screen shot. Thanks for the reply.

If you hold down the SHIFT key to make selections, the SHIFT-PG UP and SHIFT-PG DN operations are not working in LIST mode.
Is already fixed for the next beta.

Thank you very much. :)

Beta site still shows 369 as the latest version. I'll keep an eye out for when that changes.

Continued best wishes,

BK

By the way - in the VIEWING PANE example up above, the one with the screen shot, I just became aware of this:

MENU: View > Quick view

This turns the pane into a docked file viewing window.

However, it appears that the docked file viewing takes up the entire pane, meaning it makes file copy / move operations difficult to accomplish, by either drag and drop or F5 / F6.

In order to accomplish file operations, I think I have to change that pane out of Quick view mode into Details or List mode.

If having the Quick view feature still reside in just one of the panes is easier from a programming standpoint, perhaps you can provide the user with the ability to split that pane horizontally so that the Bottom Half of the pane is the Quick view and the Top Half of the pane is a file view that can be set to List, Details, etc. like the full pane on the other side of the interface can be.

Or if you can emulate the system above in the PowerDesk Pro 5 screen shot, making the entire bottom half of the interface a Quick view area and the top half showing as two distinct file panes, I think that would be a nice option to have as well.

Perhaps it is possible to give the user both of those viewing options even.

It might also be possible to include the Menu and Button Bar in that viewer pane so that if it is selected as the active pane, those Menu and Button Bar items would have the focus and the user could use that Menu and Button Bar as they would if the viewing windows was un-docked.

Thank you again,

BK

Shift+PageUp/Down is working in R369, thanks, but then also Shift+Left/Right should work IMO.

I found a minor focus issue, I'll start the new topic.

Bearded Kirklander - please search the forum and add your support to existing topics instead of posting here, OT. Thanks.

I have requested somthing similar to the screenshot above, more here:

http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?t=287

"preserve folder time and date when copying or moving" has been requested too and it might be added in the next version AFAIK.

Sorry about that. I guess my enthusiasm got the best of me. I'll try to start paying more attention to detail.

It's good to see bug-finding and bug-stomping going on at such a brisk clip. Man, I really dig this software...

Best wishes and many thanks,

BK

Shift PG UP and PG down now seem to work properly in 372, as do the UP and DOWN arrow keys when SHIFT is pressed.

I don't think there is any function in the SHIFT RIGHT ARROW and SHIFT LEFT ARROW but I don't think that is a bug - Powerdesk doesn't do that either.

So, Up, Down, PG Up and PG Down are doing good in list mode.

Thanks

Left/right arrows are working the same as Page Up/Down in list view, so Shift+left/right should work the same as page up/down IMO.

Sounds good to me. I'm a big fan of keyboard shortcuts. Saves much time.

Thanks

Than take a look at HotkeyP - small free tool not just for many Windows, system options, but also to change the global and local shortcuts in almost any program.

Thanks, man! I appreciate it.

Sometimes I miss the days of Norton Commander for DOS and batch files.
