Wrong filesize in ftp upload progress

The system would allow uploads up to 2GB. Everything was PHP, except for the upload script itself which was perl. It read a piece of input and then wrote each chunk to disk. with careful attention to the chunk size and guarding against memory leaks we could get a about a hundred uplads pending per stroage server at once.
