Drag & Drop tabs

#1 Post by tin » 03.03.2010, 10:10

Hi,

Thanks for a great software!

I personally would like to see that tabs could be drag'n dropped from one panel to the other. As it is now, it seems you have to copy the tab first, then close the original.

Thanks,

Thomas

Drag the folder to the other panel (tab-Line), not the tab!

Thanks, I was not aware of this functionality, that is useful.

However that was not what I was looking for. I would like to be able to grab a tab from the tab-line of say the left panel, and drop it on the tab-line of the right panel.
The tab should then disappear from the left tab-line and appear on the right tab-line.

I always end up having too many tabs open, and need to organize a bit...

Cheers,

Thomas

I agree that drag&drop would be a nice feature to move a tab to the other pane.
Or even to add a command to move a tab to other pane.

Meanwhile, you might try this --
You could configure your own custom hotkey (menu Extras >> keyboard shortcuts) for the command "View - Tab: Copy Folder Tab" (make sure to use the one for OTHER panel, not Same panel). A few of the function keys are not assigned by default, so you could, for example, use F9 or F10 if you want a really convenient shortcut.

Then immediately close the current unwanted tab with Middle-click or Double-click (if you configured for double-click closing in Extras>Settings>folder tabs) or hotkey CTRL + W. (or configure your own hotkey for that.)
