Drag & Drop Problem

#1 Post by BlueDragon » 29.11.2009, 02:20

For some reason the drag/drop behavior has changed for folders. Up until now using the drag/drop on folders & files has moved them, to another folder or the other pane {even earlier today it was normal}. But now it's creating a shortcut for folders {and that selection on the right-click drag/drop is bold} though it is still MOVE for files.

I have no idea what I might have done for that to change and I can't find anything in the Settings to account for it. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to change it back????

I'm using 2009.02 and have been a big fan of FC for quite a while now. I'd appreciate any help in this. Thanks a bunch!

Peace to you and yours,

I just discovered that the "Create Shortcut" happens on files AND folders in the left pane {whether I'm dragging to another folder in the same pane or to the right pane}. It's still normal for both in the right pane. Something's very odd about it AFAIK!

Could it be that one of the Alt keys on your keyboard has gotten stuck?

Thanks for your reply!

It only happened using the left pane. I found the 2009.02a download and tried upgrading to it and it works fine now. But I still don't understand how that could have just switched like that since it was working normally before.

If this is some sort of bug will it happen again or what?

Well, it certainly is an odd one. The only other thing I can think of is that your INI file might have gotten corrupted. To test that, you'll have to use another file manager (with FC closed) to move or rename freeCommander.ini -- then open FC and it will create a new one. If the problem is gone, then it was the INI and you will have to re-tweak everything.
