Batch rename

#1 Post by CabbageTree » 13.10.2009, 15:33

Hi guys,

I just want to ask...

I have godzilion of files with the name, which looks like this: "_0012_NameOfFile.jpg".

I need to rename them to achieve name without that number in the very beginning: "NameOfFile.jpg".

I tried rename filter, using representative characters in Find field, "_00??_". My idea was to define first few characters and delete them.

However it looked like bloody clever idea, it proved as a bullshit. :D

Do you have some idea how to rename bunch of files, when you want to delete first few characters? How to get around that characters which are varying, if you can not use "?" to replace them?

Thanks for your assistance!..

Can't you use the [n,7] expression (name from 7th character) for the name?
