Is there a way to FORCE File Viewer to ONLY have 1 instance?

#1 Post by Bearded Kirklander » 18.05.2009, 21:26

I have been using Free Commander to go through a series of graphics and photo images and change folders during that process.

I find that if I move to a new folder and press F3 to get the viewer, it actually starts a SECOND instance of that viewer instead of maintaining only one instance.

Is there any way I can FORCE the file viewer to use a single instance of that viewer instead of allowing for multiple instances?

I'd appreciate any help you can provide regarding this.

Thank you

It's a bit hidden, but it's possible - In Viewer menu > Options > Configure... disable option "Viewer is visible in taskbar".

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.

This change does limit the viewer to one occurrence, though you do lose the ability to quickly get back to that window via ALT-TAB.

That said, is there a way to force the Viewer to come to the front when you press F3?

The way it is now, if I press F3, the viewer stays behind the main Free Commander file-pane window. It would work a lot better for me if I could make the Viewer pop to the front so I can quickly see the file I just asked it to view.

I don't want it to stay on top, I just want it to rise to the top every time I press F3 manually.

Thanks again.

I know it's not perfect. I have already suggested something similar. The only workaround is quick view, but it's not the same.
