Updates overwrite settings.ini on portable device

#1 Post by jester » 24.03.2009, 16:47

Every time I run an update of FreeCommander my settings are overwritten. Yes, I could save them, however, I do tend to forget. So my question: Is there any chance that settings are protected in the future?

Thanks

I'm using a zip version and the ini file is not included in the package. Which version are you using (U3?)?

The portable one, but not U3: FreeCommander_Portable_2009.paf.exe

OK, so I can't confirm the problem, FreeCommander.ini file is NOT replaced. How do you "run an update"?

Well, I double-click the file, execute it. Next time, all my configurations are gone. This happens ever since I used Freecommander, I think at least back to 2007. I'm currently not at my PC, I'll check again the next days (out of the office currently, sorry).

Strange, what about a ZIP version?
