Multiple renaming

#1 Post by Lyrix » 08.03.2009, 17:28

Hey there,

Im absolutely thrilled about the possibilities of Freecommander, what a relief from windows explorer!
I have been using windows explorer intensively before to sort out all my music files, however it has taken me much more time than I think I should have. The main thing that has taken my ages, was renaming all the music files.
Now I see there's a multiple renaming option in Free Commander, if it can do automatically what I have been doing manually all the time, that would be a dream come true. But so far I havent been able to figure it out yet, hopefully you can help and tell me if this is at all possible with FC.

So, here's what I need. Say I have a bunch of songs which are listed as follows:

04 - Provider
08 - Sooner or Later
10- Anti Matter

And I would want the list to look like this instead:

N.E.R.D - Provider
N.E.R.D - Sooner or Later
N.E.R.D - Anti Matter

So my question is, is it at all possible to change the first part of a selected group of files all in one time? And if so, how do I do it?

Thanks a lot.
