R395: Quick filter disable with ALT-Y does not work

#1 Post by Mr-Fly » 16.12.2008, 12:36

I recently discovered that ALT-Y is not working anymore to disable the quick filter?
I am using the quick filter a lot, so I wonder when this started ?
Maybe I wil try later to downgrade to a different release and check.

Cheers, Thorsten

Edit: 390 does work, from then on, the problem exists for me.

Confirmed (in R394 - latest version :o ).

But!

Since there is just one button for quick filter now, there should be also one keyboard shortcut to toggle quick filter.

Default (toggle) quick filter shortcut should work like this:

- press ctrl+y
- go to quick filter field
- type something
- quick filter is enabled
- press ctrl+y
- disable quick filter, change focus to file list
...

Perhaps the current shortcuts to only enable and only disable quick filter might be useful for someone, so there could be even 3 shortcuts (enable, disable, toggle).

ctrl+y will set you to the field autmatically like before.
Then you can type your quick-filter.
But when I redo a CTRL+Y it will only set me to the field and I have to manually delete (by backspace) my filter.

do you see that different ?

Sorry, it's a misunderstanding. It was a suggestion. Since there is just one button, there should be also just one keyboard shortcut to toggle the quick filter.
