The Build 944 added to the Rename window 2 mini-icons in its bottom left corner, that allow for a quick thus convenient insertion of date-and-time stamp and of only the date marker to any new name of an item being adjusted
But please add a third icon that that will bring up a configuration sub-window, in which users will be able to configure settings for these two different stamps. And please do retain this current split, because users might want to follow the current dichotomy of using certain notation of date when it is accompanied by time, but a different one when it is just the date alone
There already is that old box for the
Multi rename > Settings > Timestamp format
which allows for defining to ones liking of date-and-time stamp when using the Multi Rename feature - so its only logical to further enrich the ordinary Rename feature with similar ability
And if that proposition gets ever implemented, then please makes sure that it will accept and then correctly utilize all kind of characters as separators between numbers, and not just the common ones like ASCI hyphen, dot and white space
Data stamps in the Rename window should have definable notations
Re: Data stamps in the Rename window should have definable notations
Also consider adding in that configuration pop-up window of extra fields for alternative notation of stamps - and then also add doppelgangers for the current 2 icons that will actually paste them in. Because this way, having 5 icons total, users will be able to also conveniently choose between variants by simply clicking one of 2 icons of each stamps - an >>A<< "normal" and >>B<< alternative oneForez wrote: 19.03.2026, 23:41 [...]

Or, because there is a lot of free horizontal space in the Rename window, maybe instead of adding just >>B<< versions, users should be able to add more of them up - to lets say 10? Then the total number of icons in a single row would be 21, and all should be visually enumerated in the Rename window (with the exception of course the icon leading to configuration). And also when hovering mouse pointer over them, the balloon should present their content, so that there would be no doubts of what exactly will be pasted when they will be clicked
But if it will be able to define and paste in multiple versions, then the conceptual split
that makes them currently use graphically different icons, would be not needed any more. Or to the contrary: it should be the users who would choose which graphic should be used for which every entry i.e. there could be e.g. 3 icons with a clock followed by 4 with calendar and the rest would have be empty due to not being defined. And going even further with such updates: users could load up their own icons, so that multiple variants could be made to look not identical to others
