I use FreeCommander XE 2025 Build 936 64-bit donor on Windows 10 Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.6332).
I have tabs open that show mapped network folders. I keep FreeCommander open, even when I set my PC to sleep so I can continue when the PC resumes. I also leave my machine running over night, when some of the network servers might be shortly unavailable for maintenance.
From time to time it happens that FreeCommander is blocked by a popup message in the background that reads "Timeout while checking if file or directory exists <path to mapped network location>".
The popup is not put in the foreground when activating the main window. The application appears to be hanging and is not responding to user input. It basically looks like the owner hwnd of the popup isn't set.
Sometimes it is possible to switch to the popup, but the popup not always appears in Alt-Tab. So the only fix is to kill the FreeCommander process.
Expected behavior: Ideally there shouldn't be a popup for temporary unavailable files/directories, in particular I should only be notifified when trying to interact with the unavailable file/directory (Anyway, what is the reason there are network checks done in the background when I don't interact with a specific file? Could there something be triggering this on my system? A shell extension maybe?).
However, it would already be sufficient if the popup would be opened so that it always remains on top of the application's main window / brought into the foreground when the main window is activated.

Have you checked the 937 release too?
I have made some changes regarding the problem.

@Marek: With the latest version the modal popup has the correct owner, so that it appears on top of the main window. Thanks a lot!
