Bug with hover or right click certain file type

Hi folks,

I have an issue, when I hover hover or right click on a certain filetype(.ipt) then Freecommander crashes.
It hangs, I have to kill the process with Task manager. (*.ipt is an Inventor file, design software from autodesk) See file attached.

I've turned off the checkbox

and then i can hover without an issue. And offcourse, i don't see any information no when i hover.

Version i use:
FreeCommander XE 2025 Build 934 64-bit donor
Machine: Windows 11

I've tried FC with default factory settings, and with the checkbox TRUE it hangs/crahed, with chekcbox FALSE it all works fine with hover.
But then when I right click FC hangs as well.

PDF of Excel file just work fine.

You can try to reinstall Inventor.

If the right click does not work, you can try to use ShellMenuView from nirsoft.
With this utility you can disable all context menu items except from Microsoft.
You can then allow individual items and always check whether the context menu is working. This will help you identify which menu item is causing problems.

Okay, I wil have a try with that one.

Update on the bug. It also occurs with Zip files. When I right click on a .zip, freecommander hangs.

So it's not down to Inventor files only.

The current version of Free Commander (XE 2025 Build 934 64-bit donor)
has no problems with the context menu of any archive file types.
Tested with .7z, .rar and .zip
Also, hovering over these types show the archive info.

So follow Markeks advice to find the culprit.
