Address Bar does not succumb to HotkeyP setting for copying of data [UNCONFIRMED]

#1 Post by Forez » 15.11.2023, 19:26

I have been using HotkeyP for a yea now. And [probably] all that time whenever I wanted to copy content of the Address Bar in FreeCommander it was failing at it; i.e. the Clipboard did not receive any content

My settings for this in HotkeyP are

Code: Select all

Mouse 4&L
Command: Macro
Parameters: \ctrl\C
Working directory:
Sound:
and they do work everywhere else including other elements of FreeCommander. So what could be wrong with that one element hat makes it immune to my hotkey mouse shortcut?

Currently I am using HotkeyP 4.10 and FreeCommander XE 2023 Build 896 64-bit Donor Portable & Build 880 32-bit Public Installed on Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 x64

Are you using 64-bit version of HotkeyP?

It works good here, same command and parameters, HotkeyP 4.10 64-bit, FC 64-bit and 32-bit.

Is the address bar in FC in edit mode?

Are you using FC in normal mode - not as administrator?

Yes, HotkeyP is x64 - but I do not know what edit mode you speak of. Neither just clicking with BMB+LMB on Address Bar or first selecting part of path works

I mean Alt+G, or right click address bar and select "Edit path", or middle click address bar.

Path must be in this mode - text background should be blue, otherwise there is nothing to copy for HotkeyP.

You can use - middle click to start edit mode, and then use your mouse shortcut for copy, or add a toolbar button, to copy path with single left click easily.

FC can't be started as admin, otherwise it does not work, you'd have to start HotkeyP as admin too, read help for more info, but perhaps it could cause more problems.

Of course now it somehow works A-OK, but did not for whole weeks prior to me finally finding the time to create this topic
