In viewer (F3), why is the delete key F8?

In viewer (F3), why is the delete key F8 , and more importantly is there a way to amend it?

I reported this one, it was changed in the donor version already.

In the public version it's possible to change it like this:
- open viewer
- menu - options - settings
- shortcuts tab
- find Delete action and change the shortcut
- click the button Assign and OK
