Feature request — The way to restore a closed tab

#1 Post by CabbageTree » 06.09.2023, 17:27

Hi!

The title is pretty self-explanatory. Of course, if I accidentally close a tab that should be kept, I can open a new one and go back in history in one step. (Which could probably be triggered by a custom autohotkey script.) But a small icon with a few recently closed tabs would be a nice option.

Thanks.

Yes

I use such handy option all the time in my web browser, despite being able to dig it out also from its history

FC already by default has a keyboard shortcut for bringing back of the last closed Tab so it could be made available also as an icon that could be placed on the Address Bar. Or as a new special mini button that would be [if chosen by user] shown right next after the last currently visible Tab

This is not working for me, with custom or default settings.

Anyway, what about:
- right click the tab - Recently closed tabs
- Shift+Ctrl+T
- Open lastly closed tab - toolbar button is available, just without icon

Guys, you are absolutely right! The feature I was asking about is already there. Instead of one click on the icon, there is a shortcut and two click solution from the R-click menu.

Thanks for learning another new thing!

Nevertheless 2 clicks is 200% of 1 click; and you cannot currently assign this shortcut to an icon / button for further convenience. [Hence my proposition]

It's 1-click button and custom icon can be assigned, I'm not using this feature often in FC, but I'm using it often in my web browser, 1-click button extension "Undo close tab", left 1-click opens last closed tab, right click opens context menu with the list of last closed tabs, with the favicons, it's quite handy.

Perhaps the icon to existing toolbar button function "Open lastly closed tab" could be added and perhaps also sub-button for the list of other closed tabs.
