Selected Item always in View?!! Can't scroll!!

#1 Post by Zyeox » 17.07.2023, 18:47

I am having a problem and have been having this issue for awhile. I even went to default settings and it still happens. I checked settings and can not find anything that I can change to fix it. The issue I am having is no matter what Item I have selected in the tree list if I scroll down the tree it will automatically go back to the item I have selected. This is a really annoying and I have been so put off by this I wanted to uninstall this software cause of it. But man I love this piece of software so much I can not live without it. Please can some one help me. I have to be missing something and I just cant find what it is.

Thanks!!

I can't be the only one having this issue? If so, then I have to be doing or missing something obvious. If I need to explain this more or link to a video or something let me know. I can try to do that.

This does not happen here.
Of course, the tree scrolls when you enter some dir inside of one of the 2 windows.
Also, you don't provide any useful information about your OS and FC versions.

I am not sure I understand the comment "This does not happen here" are you meaning I put this in the wrong section or you don't have this problem?

I am aware that the tree will scroll but the problem is when I have lets say folder "A" selected and scroll down the list to lets say folder "AAA" it will jump back to the selected folder "A". Some folders it will do it on and others it will not. For example I can go to the Windows folder in the application and scroll down past the highlighted item and it wont jump back to that highlighted Item. I am baffled to what is causing this issue for some folders and others it don't or maybe this is a feature(some may want this feature).

Of course this means that on my system there is no such problem.
Also, I guess it will not happen on other systems.

No, it is not a feature.
In the release 892 you can simply test if it happens with default settings too, use Tools->Start FC as new instance...
Additionally I would test with deactivated options: "Make selected node automatically visible" and "Auto refresh..."
