Repair dead shortcuts

#1 Post by tom_yorados » 05.07.2023, 10:23

Regularly, I get the error message
"The Item That this Shortcut Refers to Has Been Changed or Moved"
because e.g. folders were renamed.

FreeCommander should
1. detect those cases (prevent the windows message box from popping up)
2. FreeCommander should ask "Should I search for the target...?"
3. If answered yes, FC could suggets something like "Did you mean.......?" Maybe with several options as radio buttons. This should be easy in the case of renamed folders. This very much narrows down the search area a lot.
4. FC should ask "Should i update the link?" -> fixes the .lnk file.

it could by default also propose using / searching up one folder. And if not found the another, up to the main one

This could be then connected / updated with also how ghost Tabs behave: https://freecommander.com/forum/viewtop ... =20&t=9730
