Zip files treated like folder

Is it possible to treat a zip file (or any support archive file type) like a folder? So that a zip file is appear like a folder in the tree panel. When the user click on the zip file on the tree panel like clicking on a folder, the content of the zip file is appeared in the file panel. Also, in multiple panel view, the user is able to drag and drop directly the content of a zip file to a directory, or another zip file.
